We offer inpatient, day care, and outpatient services, and our Macmillan Windmill Unit at Blackpool Victoria Hospital provides free information and support through clinical nurse specialists. Our multidisciplinary teams collaborate with regional healthcare professionals to ensure timely and appropriate care for all cancer patients.

The Trusts Cancer Services and Oncology Directorate, part of the Division of Surgery and Anaesthetic Services, provides comprehensive cancer care, including outpatient clinics, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up services for all tumour types. The multi-disciplinary team ensures high-quality care for patients on cancer pathways, including those referred under the two-week rule. The Trust offers outpatient systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT) consultations with oncologists and refers patients needing radiotherapy to the Rosemere Cancer Centre. The team includes consultants, specialty doctors, and is supported by cancer clinical nurse specialists, support workers, and advanced clinical practitioners. Acute Oncology support is provided by a nurse-led service at the Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital.
Biobanks
Lancashire Teaching Hospitals have several biobanks that collect and store human biological samples for research purposes, including a dedicated biobank managed by the Research & Innovation department. These biobanks hold collections of human biological samples, including blood, saliva, and tissue, with associated clinical information. They are authorized to ethically approve research projects within their governance structure, and researchers receiving samples are not required to obtain individual ethics approval.
